William Hockley "Bill" Horwood

February 8, 1938 - August 28, 2018
It is with profound sadness and wonderful memories we share with you the passing of William (Bill) Hockley Horwood on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan on Feb. 8, 1938. He grew up on the family farm in Erickson, Manitoba with 6 brothers and sisters. He embarked on his life's journey at age 16, and he completed his mechanic's apprenticeship in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Bill met and married the love of his life, Adella in 1961, and their great adventure began! They had some wonderful experiences in Thompson, Manitoba and other places before settling in Abbotsford, BC. Many lifelong friendships were formed during these years.

Bill was an entrepreneur at heart, and he worked very hard to ensure his family would always be well looked after. He worked as a mechanic and kept working hard until he eventually ran his own garage, Triway Motors. When he "retired" from that, he started his next career in property development, and then moved on to owning and operating the Abbotsford Campground and RV Park.

Bill and Dell retired early, and spent time travelling and living in Mexico. They really enjoyed exploring the world together.

Bill leaves his family to celebrate a life well lived. These include his wife, Adella, daughters Lesley (Mike) and Teresa (Russell), and five grandsons, Joshua, Matthew (Tamara), Lucas (Jacquie), Alex (Cara) and Joe. He will also be missed by extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 1:30-5:30 at:

Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford.

Everyone is invited. We would be happy to share a memory, have a laugh and enjoy a visit.
