August 29, 1931 - September 21, 2018
On Saturday, September 22, 2018, Bill slipped the bonds of this life to join his Lord and Savior Jesus in heaven, being reunited with his beloved wife of 63 years, Audrey, and a host of family and friends waiting there for him. Much loved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he leaves behind an incredible legacy of love. Bill was born on August 29, 1931 to Roy and Glenie (Shiels) Blaney in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where he grew up playing baseball and hockey. He met and married his high school sweetheart, Audrey McBurnie, on October 18th, 1952.
His business career included 25 years with a major oil company. Then in 1972 he purchased a local trucking company that grew to become Northwest Tank Lines, one of the leading tank truck companies in Western Canada.
Bill is survived by what he believed to be his finest accomplishments, his six children: Linda Kaye (Kelly), Susan Hogan (Tim), Tom Blaney (Tina), Barbara Windle (Tim), Howard Blaney (Patricia Zamora Mora) and David Blaney. With Audrey, he taught them the importance and love of family, laughter and offering a helping hand to others. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly "Mort" Usher, and many nieces and nephews. He took pride in his 22 grandchildren and enjoyed keeping up with their many accomplishments and adventures. They continue his legacy raising his 22 great-grandchildren.Bill is greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at United Churches of Langley, 21562 Old Yale Road, Langley, BC on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
