Davis, William

Loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2009 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, at the age of 80. Born March 11, 1928 in Ladner BC, Bill is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Kathy (Jim Hansen); sons Stephen, Philip and James; and 9 grandchildren.

Following high school,, he graduated from Northwest Baptist Theological College in Port Coquitlam. Later he attended Olds Agricultural College and it was here that he and Margaret met and were married in 1955.

On December 1 of that same year they sailed for India on the Norwegian freighter, the Hoegh Silvermoon, a journey that took six weeks. After one term in India, Bill was unable to return because of ill health, but he served in missions for short terms in Bolivia and Korea.

Bill served as a pastor with the Fellowship Baptists, serving in Enderby, Houston, Fort Chipewyan, and McLennan. In each church he introduced the use of the little daily devotional "Our Daily Bread". A final thought from this booklet, to Bill:

Home from the earthly

journey

Safe for eternity

All that the Saviour

promised

That is what heaven will be.

We may walk a desert pathway, but the end of the journey is the Garden of God. A service to celebrate his life was held Monday, March 2nd. For those desiring, donations can be made in Bill's memory, to the Gideon Society would be most appreciated.
