December 4, 2019
Vera Ragneborg, age 96, passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2019 surrounded by her two daughters. She was born in Riga, Latvia to Peter and Irmgard Sadikoff. She got married in 1956 to Curt Ragneborg, who passed away in 2017. Vera was someone who was incredibly tenacious, had a witty sense of humour, and truly loved each member of her family remarkably. She would enjoy her lukewarm coffee, paired with a romance novel of her liking that she would often criticize before finishing. She never quit anything, even if she didn't like it, and she lived that way until she passed. She suffered from severe back pain for years, but not once would complain. She would start each morning by making faces at herself in the mirror and laughing, before proceeding to get dressed in the latest fashions while applying lipstick and hair pins. Even in her late age, self love was practiced each day. She was continuously selfless, always putting others feelings and needs before her own. She loved the warmth of the sun, being surrounded by flowers, hummingbirds in the early evening, painting when she felt inspired, cooking for others and most importantly her two daughters and grandchildren. She made it easy to look up to her, as she was someone who was resilient. Her daughters Christina and Sylvia will fondly remember her as someone who was loving and strong-willed. Her six grandchildren will reflect on the many memories and laughs they shared endlessly. She inspired anyone she met in an irreplaceable way. Thank you to the caring staff at the ACE unit of ARH and Christine Morrison Hospice. No service by request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
