Vera PALMER

May 20, 2007

Vera Palmer, born November 5, 1916, on Matsqui Prairie to pioneer parents, Albert and Maud Farr, passed away on May 20, 2007, after over 90 years of excellent health and one difficult week in the hospital. Vera was predeceased by her husband Bert Palmer in 1992. She is survived by son, Robert (Joan) of Kingston, Ontario, adult grandchildren Ken, Kara and Kathy, five great-grandchildren, and son, Gerry (Pam) of Abbotsford, and infant grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and Jordan. Vera lived her first 25 years on the family farm on Page Road, Matsqui Prairie, and then, upon marriage, lived in Levack, northern Ontario, until her retirement with her husband in 1972, when they returned to Abbotsford. Vera was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She retained her health and her wit to the very end, and will be lovingly missed by her family and friends, who will gather for a memorial service at Trinity Memorial United Church at 33737 George Ferguson Way, Abbotsford, B.C. at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007. For those wishing, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
