Trudy passed away peacefully at her home in Sidney on April 16th. She was born April 13, 1940 in Broek Op Langedijk, The Netherlands. In 1954, Trudy came to Canada with her Mom, Dad and siblings. Trudy was predeceased by her husband, Ivan Visser. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Angela, sons Gerry (Sue), Dan (Helga) and Joel (April), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her siblings John, Johan, Ankie, Maria and Nelly, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, foster son Robert and his wife Susan, as well as many dear friends whom she loved to spend time with. Trudy will forever be cherished in our hearts. To all who knew Trudy, she was fun, loving, generous and loyal. Her door was always open to family, friends and those in need. Trudy loved her family. She especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren while assisting them in any way she could. Trudy and Ivan together supported many in need in the Philippines and here at home. Trudy gave much to her church community while openly sharing her love for Jesus. Trudy was a gift to us all. She will be greatly missed.
Very special thanks to Vicki (Victorina Crisostomo), for the tender loving care she gave Trudy. Many thanks to her nurse, Carmel MacDonald, to Beacon Home Support and Nurse Next Door for all the help they provided. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to Victoria Hospice, Mt. Newton Centre in Saanichton or the Red Cross Society. These organizations provided the practical care and equipment needed for Trudy. A Memorial Service will be held at New Life Church, located at 35270 Delair Road in Abbotsford, on Friday April 23rd at 1 PM.
