Tiegen James Alden Bradford

September 9, 2004

Tiegen James Alden Bradford went home to be with Jesus from his home here in Abbotsford Sept. 9, 2004 just after 10:00 am at 18 months of age. Tiegen was born March 8, 2003 to Kris and Lindy Bradford and surprised us by coming early into this world. He was born with an extremely rare case of “short gut syndrome” and beat all the odds by coming though his first operation at 24 hr. old. He spend the first 5 months of his life at Children’s Hospital in the Special Care Nursery and his parents lived most of that time in a motorhome in the parking lot of Children’s Hospital. After his surgeries Tiegen was left with only 35 cm of bowel and was the first baby ever to leave the SCN on a home TPN program.

Tiegen taught us all how to love unconditionally and was loved more than any of us thought was possible. Both Lindy and Kris have been amazing parents taking over most of his care and doing most of the medical procedures themselves...Lindy and Kris being the best parents God could have given Tiegen.

He will be missed by his Mom and Dad, his baby sister Hannah, his Oma and Opa Abe and Elizabeth Falk, his Grandpa and Grandma Glen and Bea Bradford, his Uncle Ron Falk and Christine and their children Tyler, Mayci, Kolton and Luke, Uncle Halvin Falk and Karen of Vernon and their children Brianna, Kelsey, Josiah, and Auntie Kandis Wiebe and Dennis of Grande Prairie, Alberta and their daughter Jennah. He won the race early and even beat his great grandpa Jim Hill home to be with Jesus.

Tiegen defied all predictions when he lived to be 18 months old. The odds were against him but he was a little fighter who loved life and loved all of us who cared for him.

He may be gone from us but he will always be in our hearts and the wonderful memories we have of him are eternal.

As his mother Lindy said as she was saying goodbye to him, “We have lived life with Tiegen and we have no regrets.” She summed up all that is in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held Wed. at 1:00 from the Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church at 2051 Windsor St. For all of you who have followed his life and prayed for him we invite you to come and celebrate his life with us.

Wiebe and Jeske Funeral Services are in charge of arrangements. Donations will be sent to Kris’ cousins who work with orphans in Russia and can be made out to Kris or Lindy.
