Thomas Edward Ellison passed away peacefully on February 2, 2014 in Abbotsford, BC at the age of 90. Tom was born in Regina, SK on July 25, 1923 and lived there until moving with his wife to BC in the 1950s. Tom was an Industrial Education Teacher in Coquitlam for 27 years and also spent many years as a carpenter. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and held a deep faith that was evident in how he lived. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 57 years, Muriel Anne and by his brother Matthew. Tom is survived by his sister Marcia, daughters Marguerite Mayers (Stephe), Nancy Sinnamon (Norm), sons Timothy, Peter (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Sylvia) and nineteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and other family who loved him dearly. We would especially like to thank the staff at Maplewood House in Abbotsford for their kindness and compassion towards Tom during the four years he lived there, as well as caregivers Tamara, Danae and Nichole for all the time they have spent with Tom over the years by making his days extra special. Visitation is at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home 7386 Horne St., Mission on Sat., Feb. 8 at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to YWAM (Youth With a Mission).
