September 13, 1916 - November 30, 2021
Mum was born in Worthing, Sussex, England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She lived most of her life in North Vancouver. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and supportive mother, always there for us. She made delicious meals and welcomed our friends.
Mum had a strong sense of social justice and was interested in other people and the world around her. She had a keen eye for fashion and always took care with her appearance. She was an avid reader and loved travel and nature. Ballroom and square dancing with Dad brought her many hours of fun and friendship. As she aged, it was a comfort to her that her children share a strong bond.
Mum was predeceased by her first husband George and our dad, Harold. She is survived by her six children; Bill, Ian (Zlata), Karen, Diana, Paul (Gloria) and Tom (Shawn). Also, survived by many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She lived at Hallmark in Abbotsford for nine years (Lake and Park) and was part of their "family." This year, when Mum became increasingly frail, she moved to Worthington Pavillion where she died peacefully. Thank you to all the caregivers who have touched Mum's life with their kindness and compassion.
A celebration of Mum's life will be held in the spring. Condolences can be left at www.hendersonsabbotsfordfunerals.com
