Shirley Labach of Abbotsford, BC passed away on December 4, 2021 at the age of 90 at the Abbotsford Hospital.
She is survived by her 5 children; Kenny, Marlon, Michael, Wendy and Glenda, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Vera Marks, her husband Andrew William Labach and her 4 siblings; Vern Marks, Lucy Welwood, Gene Marks and Eleanor MacFarlane.
Shirley was born and raised in Leask, Sk., attended Normal School in Saskatoon and pursued a teaching career after graduation.
Shirley and Andrew met at Normal School and later married in June 1950. Together they embarked on their teaching careers and raised their family in Big River, Sask. Shirley was a devoted mother and respected teacher. After retiring in 1984, Shirley moved to her new home of Abbotsford, BC. Throughout her life Shirley enjoyed playing bridge, travelling,
curling, needlepoint and going fishing with her children. She is dearly missed by all.
A memorial will be held on October 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm to rest her ashes at the Musselwhite Cemetery in Abbotsford followed by a gathering of family and friends for a celebration of her life.
