February 3, 1931 - April 24, 2021
Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. It is with wonderful memories of a life well lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Evans.
She was predeceased by her husband John and sisters Doreen Creelman and Ruth Bonn.
She will be dearly missed by her sister Muriel Hunt, children; Bruce (Debbie), Judy (Tom), Wendy (Phil) and Dave (Debbie), grandsons; Chad (Dawn), Travis (Carmen), Shay (Emily), Josh (Autumn), Chris (Gemma), Corey (Nikki), granddaughters; Caitlyn (Geoff), Carly and Kara (Mike) and her 14 great grandchildren. Shirley worked along side her husband John at the Fraser Valley Record from 1965 until retirement in 1988.
She was an active member of the Mission Curling Club until 80 and enjoyed line dancing, bridge and social time with her many friends. She loved an enthusiastic game of Kanasta with her grandchildren, was very close to her three sisters and enjoyed life to the fullest. Shirley always made the best of a difficult situation, especially with the numerous health setbacks later in life.
Many thanks to all of the community home care workers who provided outstanding care in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to The Parkinson's Society of BC.
A Celebration of Life will be held when conditions allow.
