November 21, 1939 - November 10, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful and dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley passed away on November 10, 2019 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission, after a brief but intense battle with cancer. While she will be deeply missed, we are comforted in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father. Shirley moved to Vancouver in 1959 where she met the love of her life, Jacob Wiebe. They were married at Moosehorn Lodge, Uncha Lake, BC on December 22, 1961. They welcomed son Duane in 1964, son Rick in 1965 and their daughter Lesley in 1968. Jake and Shirley worked well together in many different business ventures throughout the province of BC before settling in Abbotsford. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who worked hard her entire life and loved her family deeply. She enjoyed cruising with Jake, gardening, reading, crafting, her morning crosswords, playing cards and line dancing with the special friends in her life.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband Jake, daughter Lesley Budd (Shane) and grandchildren Cody, Brad and Breanna. She is also survived by her sister Viola Russell (Larry), brother Stan Peterson (Kathy), brother-in-law Peter Wiebe and sister-in-law Elaine Wiebe. Shirley was predeceased by her sons Duane Wiebe and Richard Wiebe, brother-in-law William Wiebe and sister-in-law Helen Wiebe.
We offer our thanks for the compassionate care given to Shirley by the loving and caring staff at Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission, BC. The family will be holding a private interment to be followed by a celebration honouring her life, at the home Jake and Shirley shared. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission, BC.
