September 16, 1950 - February 3, 2019
Sharon Linda McGee (McInnes) 68 of Abbotsford BC, passed away February 3, 2019 after a 27-day battle of advanced pancreatic cancer. Sharon was born September 16, 1950 in Saskatoon, SK and graduated from Aden Bowman Collegiate. She was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Verna McInnes. Sharon is survived by her loving children Craig (Tammy) and Allison (Bill), adored grandchildren Derek, Ryan, Amelia, and Lochlan, brother Bob (Heather), sister Carol (Jack) as well as nephews, nieces, and many cousins.
Sharon moved from Saskatoon to BC in 1969, living in Surrey, Nelson, Prince George, and Abbotsford, where she made many friends and maintained lifelong friendships. Sharon was multi-talented and sewed many of her own clothes in high school, making tailored suits, evening gowns, and then clothes for her young children. She also was a talented artist painting in oils, weaving, knitting, crocheting, and in the past 17 years was an avid quilter. Sharon was an amazing cook and baker, always trying new recipes. One of her favourite activities was watching and supporting her grandkids' sporting, school, theatre, and musical events. She loved to travel, which included a recent trip to England, Scotland and Ireland; as well as annual trips to Maui with family and friends. Sharon worked as credit manager at Allied Windows for 25+ years, retiring in 2015.
Sharon's early passing has left a huge hole in our family. She will also be missed by her Abbotsford aquafit friends. A special thanks goes out to her sister Carol, nephew Anton, and niece Hillary for their love and 24-hour support at the hospital in her final weeks, and to sister-in-law Carol McGee who helped by cooking and supporting everyone. Sharon's wish was to have her ashes scattered at one of her favourite hiking spots in Abbotsford. On a warm spring day family and friends will gather to make the hike and fulfill Sharon's wish.
