August 8, 1923 - December 6, 2021
Sarah passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus on December 6, 2021 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1923 in Orenburg, Russia into a family of seven children during the time of the Russian Bolshevic Revolution.
The family experienced many difficulties and left Russia to immigrate to Canada to the land of freedom. Sarah's first years in Canada were spent in Coaldale Alberta. The family then chose to move further west to Yarrow, BC. where her growing up years took place. Eventually she settled in the Abbotsford area taking care of her Mother & sister for many years.
Sarah pursued her education first at Normal School, then MB Bible College and finally receiving her teaching degree at UBC. She taught elementary school in Richmond, Vancouver and many years in Abbotsford. Teaching was her passion in life, and she treasured the memories of her years teaching Grade 1 & 2 after over 25 years of teaching. Previous students would search her out and visit her in her later years saying she was their favorite teacher. She was also a talented painter & writer.
Sarah was an active member of Clearbrook MB Church for many years until her health did not allow it. Her family would like to thank the staff both at Tabor Court as well as Home Support for the love and care shown to our Mom through the last years of her life of 98 years.
Sarah is predeceased by her first husband Henry Kaetler, second husband Abe Siebert, a step son, Paul Siebert and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her adopted sister Ruth Kroeker, step-children, Ron & Lydia Klassen, Dan & Linda Rempel, Jon & Evelyn Siebert, Phil & Shirley Siebert, James & Anne Siebert, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
