HARPER Sarah. Sarah "Sadie" Harper, late of Mission, BC, passed away on September 4, 2012 at the age of 76 years at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. Survived by her loving husband, Derek; her sons, Paul (Wendy), Mark (Myra), and Sean; her daughters, Michele DeFehr and Lisa McLeod (Mark); her grandchildren, David and Joshua Harper, Mika and Kai Harper, Brittany, Kayla and Lindsay DeFehr, Alexander Hall and Rowan McLeod. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Greg DeFehr. Sarah was born in Liverpool, England. She trained as a registered nurse and midwife in Boston, Plymouth and Oxford, England. She moved to Canada in 1965 with her family and was dedicated to her work as Head Nurse of the maternity unit at MSA Hospital for many years. Many thanks to the nursing staff on Baker 2 at ARH for their wonderful nursing care, and also to Drs Egolf, Chow and Walia. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Sts. Joachim & Ann Church, 2827-273 St., Aldergrove, BC, followed by tea at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at the Gardens of Gethsemani, 15800-32 Ave., Surrey, BC. Donations may be made to BC Cancer Agency in lieu of flowers.
