1925-2006
Ruth was born to Argentine missionary parents, Niels and Annina Sorensen, on December 13, 1925. Ruth and Leslie were married in San Francisco, July 2, 1948. When the Holdcrofts joined Western Pentecostal Bible College (now Summit Pacific College) in 1968, she was the friendly face at the College office window greeting guests and cheering and consoling homesick lonesome students. Her warm, friendly, gentle responses significantly influenced the spirit and tone of WPBC. In later years she has effectually fulfilled the role of family matriarch and in loving generous ways she has blessed her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, granddaughters, step-grandchildren, her siblings, other relatives, and a circle of very Âspecial friends. Within a few weeks of her retirement in 1987, Ruth began to have health problems which returned intermittently and led to terminal cancer. Ruth went to be with her Lord and leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Les (L. Thomas), daughters, Cynthia (Ken), Althea, Sylvia (Dave), granddaughters Megan, Stephanie and Jacqueline, her sister Esther (David), and her brother Paul (Betty) and many step-grandchildren, great step-grandsons, and nieces and Ânephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21 at 11:00 am at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, 3145 Gladwin Rd. Friends are invited to contribute to the ministry of PAOC missionary Frank Juelich in Nagpur, India.
