July 28, 1933- June 16, 2007
Rudy died peacefully at his home from pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Irma, the beloved dad of Stewart, Cameron, Cynthia and Garth, and the beloved opa of Adam, and Jordan, Luke and Aaron, and Alec and Graeme. Rudy will also be painfully missed and lovingly remembered by his son-in-law Karl, and by his daughters-in-law Catherine, Marianne, and Elizabeth.
Rudy was pre-deceased by his father Peter, his mother Mary, his brothers Peter and David, and by his sister Irene. He is survived by his sister Mary and her husband Peter, and by his brother Walter and his wife Helen.
Farmer, real estate agent, and athlete, Rudy was intensely interested in regional, national and world politics and events. He understood how political and economic systems and policies affect people’s lives, and he showed compassion for those in less fortunate circumstances. Social and outgoing, he enjoyed his family and friends and loved to play jokes and laugh.
We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to our home care nurses, especially Joanne, Robyn, Trish, and Janet for their compassionate attention and care. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the MCC would be appreciated.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 22, 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Mennonite Church, 3471 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford.
