Ronald Ziegler, at 71 years of age, late of Abbotsford, British Columbia, passed away peacefully, June 4, 2006.

Ronald is survived by his wife Joan, their three children, Trevor, Melanie and Geoffrey; daughter- in-law Claire, grandchildren Reid and Brynne; son-in-law Arnold and daughter-in-law Lisa. Ronald is also survived by his three ­sisters; Annie, Leona, Margaret, younger brother James and his many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Ron traveled many interesting paths toward seeking and providing the best for his family. Starting out in contract sales, traveling to communities throughout northern Alberta and British Columbia; working within the aviation industry; to the many years developing new methods of process in the ferrous and non ferrous metal industry.

Ron had a devoted participation with the Navy League of Canada for numerous years and was appointed the rank of Commander for his leadership role. Ron and Joan relocated to the warmer climate of British Columbia where Ron continued to pursue his dream of self employment.

Ron will be sadly missed, but his smile and warmth will be never forgotten. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the medical staff that provided Ron with the exemplary care and affection.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to express their condolences may donate to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC, The Kidney Foundation of Canada or a ­charity of their choice.

A memorial service for Ronald John Ziegler will be held at a later date in order to facilitate family and friends to travel from within and abroad.
