SCOTT, Ron

March 15th, 1949 - June 5, 2016

It is with a very heavy broken heart and tremendous sorrow that we have to announce the unexpected passing of Ronald James Scott - RJ. Ron went on his last mystery drive as he departed this physical world on Sunday June the 5th. That day the world lost a truly amazing individual. A man who was so kind, sensitive and generous to a fault. Ron enjoyed people, whether it be chatting it up or people watching …especially those wearing sandals with socks. He wanted to get to know you, it did not matter what walk of life you were from. Ron worked for the Ministry of Transportation for thirty-five years, on the center-line crew and travelled the province painting lines. He retired from his "day job" to go to work for Emil Anderson Maintenance as a supervisor. He was always busy attending to accidents on the freeway or finding "road kill." Ron's other passion was Mopars - the proud owner of Barney the 1968 Dodge Dart GTS. Ron enjoyed entering Barney in car shows and judging by the number of awards received, he had become quite the "little trophy whore." He also enjoyed NASCAR and we had travelled to different tracks to enjoy the races. Ron is survived by his "Sweetie" - Jana and our truly amazing daughter Kristina. Siblings: Gerald, Larry (Cheryl), Linda (Ivan) and his nieces and nephews. Along with his in-laws: Kari, Laurie (Pam), Debbie (Harold), Anita, Eric, Steven (Holly), Scott (Micheline) and their families. Also his beloved furry friends, Fergie, Thompson and Shadow - also known as "the kids." He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many, many friends, neighbors and co-workers. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Mary. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 17th 2016 at the Kiwanis Legacy Sports Building at Exhibition Park, Trethewey St. at Haida Drive in Abbotsford from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please bring your stories and memories of Ron to share. No suits and ties will be admitted - Casual dress only, please. In honor of Ron we will be having a tribute cruise beginning at 10:00 at Mill Lake (Mill Lake Road Entrance) to the Legacy Sports Building. So please bring your muscle or special vehicle and join us for the ride. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Abbotsford SPCA or Alexander Elementary School - Breakfast Program in honor of Ron.

Bye for now and I love you Ronald James Scott -
