Beloved husband of Alma (deceased March 2005). Robert leaves to mourn, his daughters Moyra (Donald) Perry of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sharyn (Eric) Jones McLean, and Virginia, and granddaughter Courtney (Aaron) Joyal of Portland, Maine.
Robert’s family emigrated to Canada from England when he was a baby and settled in Waskada, Manitoba where he grew up. Robert joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1939 and served in the European Campaign - France, Italy, and England, 1940 - 1945. Upon his return to Canada he was posted to Montreal, Regina, Tacoma, Washington (Korean War), Winnipeg, Barrie, ON and Ottawa. He retired in 1969 with the rank of Captain, and lived in Matachewan, ON, Winnipeg and Abbotsford, BC. He wintered in Florida and Mission, TX for many years.
Our Father was an avid sportsman, participating in curling, golf and pool; winning many cups and trophies for his prowess in all three sports. Both our parents made many friends in many places over the years and shall be missed.
At our Fathers request there will be cremation only and no service. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart Association.
