It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Fenwick into the presence of his Lord with the assurance of eternal life.
Robert was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on December 14, 1923.
Bob had a very good and interesting life. He served all the years of WWII till 1947. He moved to BC and got a job with CP Rail in Creston. There he met his lovely wife Verna, they married in 1949.
A few years later he joined the Royal Canadian Airforce. He was stationed in Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Ottawa, Manitoba and BC. After many years of transfers Bob retired from the RCAF in 1973 and settled with his family in Surrey, BC.
He taught Curling at UBC for a short period and then joined the staff at the airport in Richmond and worked there until his retirement in 1988. Bob and Verna sold their home in Surrey and moved to Carriage Lane in Abbotsford.
Bob had many interests. He was an avid curler and won many trophies. Music: He played in the Air Force Band and also in Vancouver in the Navy Band. Bob started a community choir with some residents of Carriage Lane.
The Carriage Lane chorister did very well, Bob organized concerts twice a year together with Githa (the director), the choir visited many senior care homes and it was so appreciated by the residents.
Bob also was a very active volunteer at Carriage Lane, doing odd jobs like painting, repairing the fence, setting up a security group.

He is survived by his loving wife Githa, sons Robert (Kim) and Raymond (Linda), daughter-in-law Donna, step sons Michael (Laura) and David (Melissa) and a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at MSA Manor for the good care and love to our beloved Bob.
