Robert Jacob 'Bob' Hiebert

March 19, 1928 - April 19, 2022
Robert J. Hiebert passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 19, 2022 after having suffered a stroke on March 12.
He was born in Winnipeg to Johann and Aganeta Hiebert who farmed during his early years in the Killarney and Fork River areas of Manitoba. In 1945 the family moved to BC's Fraser Valley.
He met the love of his life, Johanna Friesen, in spring of 1949 and they were married on Christmas Day that year.
In 1956 Bob had an accident while working at a lumber yard in Abbotsford, shattering the bones in both feet. Following many months of rehab, he trained as a barber and worked in that business in Clearbrook for 16 years.
In 1974 Bob and Jo bought into a grain and cattle operation outside New Norway, Alberta. After 12 years there, they moved to a hobby farm near Armstrong, BC.
In 2007 they returned to Abbotsford to live in retirement.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brothers John, George, and Victor, and his sister Kay Rempel.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Johanna, sister Violet Sawatzky, children Robert (Karen), Susan Krause (Rick), and Daniel (Dorothea), six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Wednesday, April 27, 6-8 pm, and Memorial Service on Thursday, April 28, 11 am, both at Woodlawn Funeral Home, on Clearbrook Rd.
