It is with broken hearts we share Ricky's passing. Rick was resting peacefully, surrounded by family after an incredible courageous battle with cancer, when he slipped away.
He was predeceased by his mother Jo Anne, step father Walter and brother Ronnie, grandparents; Arnold & Mildred Halvorson and Austin & Edith Howard, and his Auntie Edith Margesson.
Left behind to mourn are his father Ron, daughter Ashley, grandson Nick, sisters Lanis Halvorson, Kim Squires (Corey) and Tania Burgi (Danny) along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rick enjoyed many things including fishing, camping, watching the Canucks, often while enjoying a cold Kokanee. But above all, he loved his family. He was an easy going, generous man with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humour. He only saw the good in people.
Rick was a truly selfless person who cared more about others than himself. His smile, laughter and jokes will be missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to express gratitude to Rick's long time employer, Kruger, and co-workers for all their kindness and support.
And many thanks to the wonderful staff of Christine Morrison Hospice, with special thanks extended to Blanche, Kathleen, Jayne, Monica and Michelle (aka Kathy Bates).
