Richard came to Abbotsford in 1956, actually enroute to Vegas, but plans changed and instead opened up a business. Many of you will remember his business A&R Peters, where he started with selling paint and graduated to drapery, carpeting and upholstery. Richard was a hard working, determined to succeed type of guy working hard during the day and evenings were spent painting homes. In 1972 the love of his life, Hilda, entered the picture and together they ran the business of Rick’s Velvet Interiors – drapery was the main part of the business ’til 1984 and then collector plates were introduced and this went on until retirement in 1999. Rick and Hilda’s life consisted of travel, cruises and excursions. Laughter with family and friends was a staple in their daily living.
Memorial will be held at the Salvation Army Church Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Rd., Abbotsford, BC on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Donations to the Mission Hospice would be appreciated.
