Richard Allen born December 9, 1947 in Mission, BC passed away peacefully in the presence of the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2005 in Mission Memorial Hospital.
Rick was predeceased by his father Allen (1967) and his brother Sydney (1999). He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Jean, son Allen (Christal), daughter Colleen (Brian), grand-daughters Sadie and Jenelle and his mother Dorothy.
Rick’s love to serve his hometown of Mission led him to a lifetime of community service. He began as a Royal Canadian Air Cadet and then as a Captain in the Canadian Air Force Reserve. He then volunteered as an ambulance driver, firefighter and prior to retirement he served as Deputy Fire Chief. Rick was also a member of the Pleasant View Housing Society and lastly he served as President of Branch #57 Royal Canadian Legion for five consecutive years until his passing. While volunteering his time he also was employed as a correctional officer for the province of British Columbia for 31 years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Northside Community Church, 33507 Dewdney Trunk Road, Mission, BC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
