It is with great sadness that the family of Ria Jansen announces her passing on Sept. 27, 2018. Ria was born on February 28, 1938 in Tzummarum, Friesland, the Netherlands to Douwe and Wietske Hoekstra. Ria was one of 13 children.
Ria immigrated to Canada in 1958 and married Jim in 1960. Ria enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren, running an immaculate household, gardening, & walking.
Ria will be lovingly remembered by her eight children, Wendy (John), Floria, Silvia (Murray), Casey, Rowena (Jeff), Bernadene (Rob), Jim (Kelly) and Richard, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ria is preceded in death by her son Dwight, and husband Jim.
