Rennie Jean Forrest

June 29, 1941 - March 8, 2022
Rennie passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on March 8, 2022 at the age of 80.
She is survived by her husband, Paul, her children Val (Ken) of Abbotsford, Steve (Deanna) of Langley and her grandchildren, Courtney, Cam, Carson, Alivia, Jerusha and Luke. She is also survived by 2 sisters and brother, Carol (Allan), Joy (Ken) & Dave (Jo).
She is predeceased by her parents John & Marnie Thomson, sister Laura, and brother-in-law Paul.
The oldest of 5, Rennie was born on June 29, 1941 in Vancouver, BC. Rennie became a registered nurse after graduating from the Hospital for Sick Children in 1962 and then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Toronto in 1965. After meeting Paul at church, and a 5-year long courtship, they were married June 5, 1965.
In 1971, Paul and Rennie felt called to go to the Congo with their 2 young children. Over the next 2 years in the Congo, Paul ran the local hospital while Rennie assisted the pharmacy and medical supplies from home while taking care of the children. After returning to Canada, they settled in Kingston, Ontario.
In 1977, Paul got a position as an anesthesiologist in Abbotsford, BC, so the family packed up and headed west. Rennie completed a nursing refresher course and worked at Mission Memorial Hospital. In the coming years, Rennie worked at a doctor's office, started providing footcare, and taught English as a second language.
Rennie was an avid swimmer who enjoyed teaching piano, going to lunch with friends and family, being part of a book club and gardening.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, March 26 @1 pm at Sevenoaks Alliance Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please give to:
