SWINDLEHURST - Reginald Arthur
February 24, 1929 - June 12, 2006
Reg, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away, surrounded by his family, on June 12, 2006 at M.S.A. hospital in Abbotsford at the age of 77 years. Reg was born in Compere, Alberta but moved to Saskatchewan as a baby. He completed his elementary, high school and technical training, married the love of his life and became the proud father of three awesome sons. In 1955 he moved his family to Vancouver, BC., continued his mechanical career and added a daughter to the family. Reg's love of cars and trucks, which led him into his lifelong profession, continued into retirement when he joined the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Antique Car Club. Reg is survived by his wife Helen, to whom he had been married for 55 wonderful years, sons Vernon (Sonia), Bruce (De-Anna), Kim (Wendy), daughter Karen (Bruce Penner), grandchildren, Colin, Chris, Jason, Laura, Victoria, Chris, Andrew, Kai, Aliah, sister Donna McCullaugh, nephew Scott Hayward and neice Debra Dinger. He was predeceased by his parents (Tom & Nell) and granddaughter Aliesha. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 2:00pm at Abbotsford Baptist Church, 33651 Busby Street, Abbotsford, BC. (Just across the street from his home: Alameda Court). In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We appreciate and thank all our family and friends for sharing Reg's life.
