Mitchell, Raymond Andrew. Raymond passed away on May 31, 2014 at St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, BC. He was born in Edmonton, AB March 4, 1956. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 yrs., Pam; son Judd, (Madison Shea); daughter Rachel (Jake Mortenson); grandsons, Jaxon, Dexter, Alan; granddaughter, Bridget; brothers, Bill (Lisa), David (Suzanne) and sister, Winna and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Archibald and Frances Mitchell and nephew Travis Mitchell Standbridge. Ray drove dump trucks from his teens but in the 1980s he was asked to test out the Volvo rock truck that had come from Sweden. He drove them until Nov. 2013 when he took sick. He worked up and down the coast and spent 21 years in the Queen Charlotte Islands then on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. He spent 17 years in Scouting. He loved working and teaching the youth all about the outdoors and cooking. Those were some of his favorite times along with working with Judd and Rachel, his co-leader for a year. Raymond was also an active member at the Ridgedale Rod and Gun Club since 1991. He was the pistol chair and helped organize many pistol shoots. His passion was hunting and handguns. He would teach anyone who was interested. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Ridgedale Rod and Gun Club 35606 Harris Road, Abbotsford, BC starting at 1 pm and going all day and into the evening until 9pm. Feel free to come at any time and share stories, jokes, etc. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation in Ray's name.
