Ralph Rankin McDonald, 85 passed away February 25, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. He will be forever loved and sadly missed by Thelma, his loving wife of 63 years and son Randy (Bonnie) of Quesnel, daughter Sheila (Andy) Wierda of Abbotsford, grandchildren, Stephanie (Marcus), Trisha (C.J.), David (Nadine) and Kyle (Christine), and great grandchildren, Luke, Cohen and Harper. He is also survived by his brothers Bill (Mary) and Darry and sister Jo (Doug) Buker and sister-in-law, Marg McDonald as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Frank and Nell, sisters; Gete, Gwen, and Barb and brothers; Ted, Bob and Jim. Dad worked for the Ministry of Highways for 35 years as a Road Foreman until his retirement in 1988. Retirement gave Dad time for the things he loved, fishing, hunting, gardening and long walks with his dog. He and Mom also enjoyed many years of camping and golfing. Paramount in Dad’s life was family, nothing brought him greater joy than being a Grampa and most recently a Great-Grampa and “favorite” Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr’s Pomeroy and Neville and the staff at Christine Morrison Hospice. We will be forever grateful for the compassionate care you gave Dad. A Celebration of Life will be held March 11, 2017 @ 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32860 Cherry Ave., Mission. If you wish, wear a touch of green for the “luck of the Irish”. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice.
