SCOTT Rachel Florence
Passed away peacefully, June 12th , 2008 at MSA Hospital. Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, John Andrew "Jack"; daughter Ruth; sons Randy and Brian (Jennifer); grandchildren
David, Victoria, Keith, Laurie and Stacey; she was
predeceased by her mother Mary, father David and son Garth. Rachel was born in Carlsbad Springs near Ottawa, Ontario on October 22nd , 1916. She joined the military in 1939 and trained as a nurse stationed at Inverkit, Scotland near Greenock. Upon her
return, Rachel became a bank teller with the Bank of Canada, main branch in Ottawa. While on vacation traveling by train Rachel met her husband Jack. They were married in Duncan on Vancouver Island and settled in the Fraser Valley.
Rachel was a very good
homemaker, cooking, cleaning, sewing and baking. There was always enough to feed family and friends alike. With a quick wit, sharp eye and genuine smile she won many life long friends. A celebration of her life was held Saturday, June 14th.
