Phyllis M. Ebdon was born on Sept. 26, 1908 in St. Laurence, Jersey, Channel Islands (UK).
She passed away peacefully at Menno Home in Abbotsford on January 17, 2007. Beloved Âsister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law and friend. She was preÂdeceased by her husband, Walter in 1996, her 3 year-old daughter Marilyn in 1936 and her son Ronald in 2003. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Liv Ebdon, grandson Steve (Tracy) and granddaughter, Lana (David) and great-grandchildren; Rebecca, Shannon and Amy and Noelle. She is also survived by one brother Bernard (Helen) Hubert of Winnipeg and sisters-in-law; Eleanor Ebdon of Chilliwack and Ethel Runnalls and Phyllis Moore of Edmonton and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis married her beloved Walter on September 1, 1931 in their home town of Edmonton. As Walter was a bank manager the Ebdon family moved several times over the years; to Vancouver, Victoria, Nelson and later Chilliwack. Phyllis loved her garden and was a well known customer of Minter Garden Centres where she chose her flowers with great care. She also enjoyed sewing and other needle work along with one of her favourite pastimes, shopping. She loved to meet with family and friends for special dinners. Phyllis was also an accomplished pianist receiving her Final Exams Special Certificate from the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music. She played the piano for silent movies in Edmonton in the 1920s and taught piano lessons there as well.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery in Sardis and Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. later that day at Menno Home Chapel, Brundige Street, Abbotsford.
