December 7, 1937 - January 18, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Leach, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Phyllis was predeceased by her father, Everett, and her mother, Beatrice (Tanner).
Phyllis is lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, Gordon; her children, Debbie (Gord, predeceased), Michael (Shelly), and Krista (Peter); her grandchildren, Nicole (Tony), Kyle (Mark), Kane (Kaitlin), Noranda, Kindra and TJ; her great grandchildren, Ty, Kayden, River, Tristan, Keaton and Quinn, as well as extended family and friends in B.C. and Alberta.
Phyllis was born on December 7, 1937 in Olds, Alberta. She was married to Gordon in 1956. During their early years together, Gordon and Phyllis lived in Olds, Calgary and Saskatoon before settling in Abbotsford with their family in 1970. Phyllis took pride in the work of raising her family and enjoyed bowling, knitting and baking in her spare time.
As a couple, Phyllis and Gordon spent a lifetime filled with love and admiration for one another. They travelled extensively throughout their life together and enjoyed many memorable vacations with their family. They were well known for their annual RV trips as a couple that took them to numerous North American cities and attractions over the years.
Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion and family that her loved ones will cherish and honour in her memory. She is forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and care aides at Menno Hospital who cared for her in the final stage of her life. Memorial donations in honour of Phyllis, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Mennonite Benevolent Society.
A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
