Loewen, Peter Edwin
Born Oct. 8, 1920 in Neu Samara, Russia to his parents Henry and Helen (Klassen) Loewen, our loving husband and father passed peacefully into the presence of his Heavenly Father after a difficult illness on Jan 4, 2011. Peter moved to Canada with his parents and 4 siblings the fall of 1924 settling in Colonsay, Sask, along with 11 other immigrant Mennonite families where the family grew to 12. Married June 23, 1946 to Marie Ruth Driediger of Watrous, Sask they moved to Matsqui /Abbotsford, BC in 1947 where they have lived ever since. Predeceased by his parents, infant sister Christina, brothers Henry and Ron, Peter is survived by his wife Marie of 64 years, his four sons Melvin (Marilyn deceased Dec.(2008)

(Corinne) – Nice, France, his remaining 9 siblings, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service for Peter will be held at the Bakerview MB Church, Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, BC on Monday, Jan. 10th at 2:30pm. Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 12:00 to 12:40pm at the church. Reception to follow the Service.
