1929 - 2005
Peter passed away peacefully on August 12, 2005 in MSA Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born in Neuhalbstadt Sagradowka Ukraine, a third son of five to Peter and Katherina (Duerksen) Janzen.
After the war Peter, along with his mother and younger brother, immigrated to Alberta Canada in 1948. In 1949 they moved to BC where Peter worked in the automotive business for 21 years. Following that he worked for the Delta School Board as a custodian for 16 years before retiring in 1991. Peter and Mary moved to Abbotsford in 1995 which gave them more time for volunteer work and travel.
Peter was predeceased by his parents and brothers Bernard, Jakob and Herman.
He will be dearly missed by Mary, his wife of nearly 52 years, and fondly remembered by his children Linda (Bob) Laurenson; Wes (Cyndy) Janzen; Lawrence (Carolyn) Pauls; Caroline (Russ) Scheer and Lois (Randy) Peters; 12 grandchildren; and brother Henry (Rose Marie) Janzen.
Memorial service will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Bakerview MB Church, 2 285 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford. Donations in memory of Peter will be gratefully received for "Voice of Hope Mission" Scriptures to Russia or MCC Abbotsford.
