March 15, 2020
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Alexander Ovesen on the 15th of March 2020. Predeceased by father Mervin Ovesen, Margret and George Casey, Sabrina and Alfred, brother-in-law Trevor Mossip and father-in-law Heinz Schiefermeier.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Wendy, four sons; Garrett (Carmen), Shane (Brandy), Cody and Dylan (River), mother Germaine and Lilly (Bernie), sisters; Kim, Cherie, Michelle, Dawn (Lyle), Laurie (Max), and Anita (Rick). Paul was known as "Poppa G" to his ten grandchildren; Ethan, Ryley, Gavin, Angel, Sinceraty, Damian, Torianha, Donovan, Alexis and Keylan. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Paul was a master mechanic with over forty years in the field, a knowledge he would share with anyone with an interest. It was his job, but also his passion. He was 61 years old, on the cusp of retirement, planning trips and looking forward to relaxing with his wife and family. If you couldn't find Paul under a vehicle fixing this or that, you would find him behind his modeling desk building tanks, planes, cars and really anything with an engine where his knowledge of their workings shined in the details of the plastic counterparts. He also enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors from hunting and fishing, to riding motor-cross. He even volunteered at camp potlatch, and the Paralympics in his younger years.
He was a great man with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Rest In Peace Paul.
