TREANOR. Patrick Joseph. Oct. 27, 1941 - Oct. 19, 2011. Patrick Treanor, 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 19 at Christine Morrison Hospice, after a long battle with cancer. Patrick is survived by his wife Maureen, two daughters Anne and Amanda, son-in-law David and his grandson Dawson. He is also survived by three brothers Michael (Helen), James (Rosaline), Francis (Vera) and two sisters Margaret (Leon), Mary Catherine (Pat) and his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom and Helen Saunders and Elizabeth O'Donaghue. Patrick was born in Deravoy, Monaghan, Ireland. He studied psychiatric nursing in Dublin and began his nursing career in England. He moved to British Columbia in 1970 and continued his studies at BCIT where he obtained his RN certificate. Over his long career, Patrick worked at Lion's Gate, Riverview, MSA and Mission Hospitals. He loved his career and made many life-long friends through his work. He was loved and respected greatly by his colleagues as well as his patients. Being surrounded by family and friends was what Patrick cherished most. He also found great joy through his woodcarving, golf, gardening, Friday night dance group and Sunday morning coffee with his buddies at Timmy's. Patrick will be remembered most for his charismatic smile, his keen intellect and his generosity towards others. His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2pm at Bakerview Crematorium and Celebration Center located at 34863 Cemetery Ave, Mission, BC.
