It is with great sadness to announce that our Auntie Pat passed away peacefully on February 28.
Pat's parents instilled in her a lifelong desire to question, learn, and explore the world. She began her career working in Ottawa, Washington DC, and New York. Later, she completed a post grad in psychiatry and worked across Canada as a nurse and nursing educator. She spoke fondly of working as a nurse in a BC mining camp, a public health nurse in Nanaimo, and the director of nursing for the Abbotsford Regional Psychiatric Centre.
After retirement, Pat's desire to learn continued. She travelled extensively around the world, learned to paint, and became skilled at bridge. She regularly participated at Learning Plus and took courses at Regent College and Fraser Valley College (now UFV).
Even in her final days, Pat was a great storyteller and loved discussing current events and theology. We will miss her quick humor and passion for life.
A service will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 31 at Mount Leman United Church, 6256 Mount Lehman Rd, Abbotsford.
