February 5, 1930 - January 7, 2019
It is with sadness and also with faith in the Resurrection that the family of Patricia Geraldine Margaret Major announces her peaceful death on 7 January 2019 at Chilliwack, BC.
Pat is survived by Jack, her loving husband of 70 years, her children David and Lorne and her grandchildren Carolyn and Paul. She was predeceased by her three older sisters, Vi, Ronnie and Lil.
Pat was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba 5 February
1930, came west with her family and grew up in Langley, BC. She met Jack in high school, on his return from naval service. They married in 1948.
Pat was a strong and loving wife and mother, working and raising her sons while Jack attended theological college for three years.
After Dave and Lorne had grown, Pat became an educational planner at Douglas College, guiding numerous students through their post-secondary educational programs. She later worked at Fraser Valley College.
Pat was also a skilled prayer counsellor and led meditation groups locally. She taught many of her skills to different church groups in western Canada. She was quietly passionate about her work and it showed.
