ZIESMAN; Ona


Ona Marie Ziesman (Skidmore) 85, of Abbotsford, BC went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2016. Born August 12, 1930 in Winnipeg, MB, the youngest daughter of George and Grace Skidmore. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herman Ziesman; children: Norman (Judy) Ziesman, Ginny (Dan) Cochrane, Brenda Ziesman, David (Jeanette) Ziesman, and Carolyn (Scott) Ediger; grandchildren: Corby, Cassie, Rick (Jenn), Christina, Ryan (Janine), Matthew, Scott (Jessica), Cassidy, Carson and Brody; great grandchildren: Rayne, Ayla, Jaxon and Kingston. Ona was predeceased by her sister Meryl, brother Stuart, and grandson Kyle. Throughout her life Ona was employed as a bank teller, and held several secretarial positions. Ona had a love for music, reading, and enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was always involved in her church community in various music, choir, children's programs, women's programs, and later on the seniors programs. The last years of Ona's life were spent at Primrose Gardens and eventually Menno Home where she was well cared for by her husband and the team at Menno Home. She enjoyed daily visits from daughter Brenda as well. Ona is remembered as a kind, gentle, loving and compassionate woman who loved the Lord and her family. She will be dearly missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 12 at 2:00 PM at Sevenoaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford, BC.
