We are sad to announce the passing of "Bernie" Miner.
Bernie was born in Camrose Alberta to Ralph and Catherine "Kitty" Miner. He was the 3rd of 17 children.
He was always an industrious, hardworking man. Bernie studied welding in Nanaimo, BC in the 1950's. He belonged to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Unions Local 170 for many years. He travelled wherever the pipelines took him. In September 1973 he started his own company "Miner Welding Ltd" and was always busy on big and small projects.
On Feb 27, 1960 he married his "June Bug" and raised 4 children. They moved around BC and Alberta and then settled in Abbotsford where they have lived for the past 42 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years June, their 4 children: Phil/Val; Rhonda/Andy; Matt/Wendy; and Brett/Michelle. He has 8 grandchildren: Brandon, Jason, Mike, Jackson, Sophia, Maria, Mandy and Nathan. He also has 3 great-grandchildren: Kristopher, Cohen and Landon.
Bernie loved to get away in the winter and travelled to California and Arizona for 19 consecutive years. He loved all things western.
He is loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
