LANE, Olive

Born in Yorkshire, England, of Thomas and Kate Sadler (Smith). Olive was welcomed into heaven on Feb. 24, 2010 at the age of 96. A long-time resident of Mission, she was quietly passionate about her church, the local museum and lawn bowling. She was active, a wonderful travel partner, loved bright colours and was known for her luminous smile right to the end. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, and was at the heart of all the most important family moments. Precdeceased by her husband Merrill and her siblings Vera, Lillian and Les. Olive is greatly loved and sadly missed by her daughters Holly (Ken) and Heather (August), her grandchildren Bill (Marianne), Kathy (Brad), Sherry and Christina (Mike), her eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Also grieving the loss of this very special woman are family members Eric and Joyce Peel, her nephews and their families, all the extended family that remained in Yorkshire, and very special friend Carolyn Arnold. A funeral service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church at 33077 - 2nd Ave, Mission, on Friday, March 5th at 1 pm, with viewing from 11:30-12:30. Interment to follow at Hatzic Cemetery. Olive's family extends warm thanks to the caring staff of the Dr. Stuart Pavillion at Mission Extended Care - your kindness and devotion made all the difference. Donations may be made in Olive's name to the Mission Historical Society or the Residents' Recreation Programming Fund at the Dr. Stuart Pavillion through Fraser Health. Condolences may be left at:
