Nettie Pearl Brown passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2005 in Abbotsford, BC with Willa and friend Patty McQuade at her side.
Born June 19, 1916 in Biggar, SK to parents James and Pearl Cormack. Predeceased by husband of 63 years George Brown in 2000, brother Jim and sister Birdeen.
Survived by son Lynn (Donna) of Summerland and daughter Willa (Mel Kraft) of Abbotsford; grandchildren Curtis Brown (Michelle), Craig Brown, Tracy Lefreniere, Tammy Giguere (Dave), Tiffany Kraft, Jonathan Kraft: great grandchildren Tegan, Celeste, Cassandra, Josephine, Michael and Nicholas.
Moved to Chilliwack in 1936 and to Abbotsford in 1948. Nettie loved having family and friends around, and loved to feed them. She made the most wonderful apple pies, George’s favorite. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a very special lady.
She and George enjoyed dancing, bowling, camping, playing cards and of course their 6 grandchildren. Their house was like a second home to the grandchildren.
A big thank you to the staff at the Cottage for caring for Mom the past 5 years, and especially the last week of her life. If you wish, donations can be made to the Cottage Pavilion, c/o MSA Hospital. Also thank you so much Patty for being there!
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Hazelwood Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home on Marshall Road.
