On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Nancy Dorianne Weeks passed away peacefully in Abbotsford Hospital at the age of 73, with husband Neville at her side.
Nancy will always be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Neville; her sons Jeffrey and Michael; daughters-in-law Angela (Sokolowski) and Tracy (Francis); and her grandchildren, Hannah, Cameron, Evan and Alicia. She is also survived by her sisters Janice, Diane and Donna.
Nancy was born in Hanover, Ontario in 1948, the oldest daughter of Ted and Dorothy Luft. She married Neville in 1968 and embarked on an adventurous and interesting life, while providing full support to her husband as he fostered his career in civil / transportation engineering.
This resulted in Nancy living and working in Ontario (Mississauga and Nepean), and/ or travelling to dozens of unique countries and regions of the world; including Albania, Holland, Iran, Seychelles, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Zimbabwe and the South Pacific. She lived and worked in the UK for an extended period, before returning to Canada in 1981
with Neville and their two sons, and settling in BC.
In addition to her role as wife and mother, Nancy also developed her own notable career in office administration; including working as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools at the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board, and later at the Maple Ridge School Board (SD42). On her retirement from SD42 in 2008 she then played a key role as equal partner with Neville in their own successful consulting company.
Although Nancy loved exploring new places, her true passion in life was her family and the friendships she nurtured throughout her life. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and genuine interest in people were her trademarks. She lived with integrity, curiosity, and kindness to all, and appreciated the simple things in life.
In recent years she rediscovered her faith and enjoyed fellowship at the Ross Road Community Church in Abbotsford. She also served as a valued member of the Church's Care Team, giving support to members of the community experiencing difficult circumstances.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the care provided over several months by the professional staff in the Oncology and Palliative Complex Care Units at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. The family is also indebted to the staff at Ross Road Community Church who helped with the planning and organization of a Memorial Service for Nancy that took place on March 16th 2022. A celebration of life will be held later on this year in May, at a date and location to be determined by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Nancy to the "Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation", identifying Abbotsford Hospital.
