Myrtle Elizabeth, nee Friesen, passed into the arms of her Lord on July 29, 2006 at Bevan Lodge, Abbotsford.
Myrtle was born in Brock, SK. June 20, 1918. She spent her early years in Renata, BC and part of her later childhood in Rosthern, SK. In 1937 she moved to BC and purchased a 20 acre farm on Brown Rd (240th St) in Langley, BC. Here together with her uncle they built a small two bedroom home. Soon after she met and married John Rempel and together they worked the farm and raised their family of 3 children. In 1994, they sold the farm and moved to Carriage Lane in Abbotsford until illness brought them to Bevan Lodge in 2003 where she resided until her passing.
Myrtle is survived by loving family; son Harry (Linda), daughters: Elaine, Carlie (Jack); grandÂchildren: Michelle (Blaine), Daylene, Nithanhyle (Paige), Âsister-in-law Ivy. Predeceased by her husband John; brother, Walter; son-in-law Doug, and grandson, Mark.
A Memorial Service for Myrtle will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 1:00 pm at The Seventh Day Adventist Church (Aldergrove Alliance Church) located at 26245 28th Ave., Aldergrove, BC. Internment to precede the service at 11:00 am at Langley Lawn Cemetery 4393 208th St., Langley, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission.
