CROPLEY~ Myrle Miles

Passed away at Pleasantview Housing Society on June 26, 2008 in his 93rd year. He served with the New Westminster Engineers during W.W. II, 1939 – 1945. He married an English lady Winnifred during the war, later bringing her to Stave Falls, B.C. to raise their family. He was very active in the community starting the Cubs and Scouts and arranging several community funding events. He was the regular Saturday night “Bingo” caller. He later used that talent at Pleasantview where he became their bingo caller for a period of time. Prior to living at Pleasantview, he lived in Mission with his daughter.

Predeceased by his wife in 1989, Winnifred Doris Cropley, and his infant daughter in 1958, June Elizabeth. He is survived by his daughter Sylvia (Jim), his sons David, and Brian (Jane), his grandsons Craig (Marlene), and Tyler, granddaughter Pamela (Stephen) and two great grandchildren, Brittney and Jeremy. Myrle’s family would like to thank the staff at Pleasantview for the wonderful care you have given our father. You became his second family and we are all grateful for your support.
