Mrs. Katharina Schmidt went home to be with the Lord she loved on July 21, 2006. Born in 1914 in Aliesowa, Orenburg, Russia Katharina moved to Canada in 1952 and to Clearbrook in 1956.
She leaves to morn: Her daughter Katie; sisters Agate Pankratz, Eliesabeth Bergen, Sara Goerzen, and Mariechen (Johann) Podsigun; brother Johann Krieger; many nephews and nieces; special nephew and niece Peter and Katie Krueger in Abbotsford; cousin Agathe Berg in Coaldale, Alberta; and extended family.
Katharina was sadly predeceased by her parents; brothers Heinrich, Peter, David, and Hans; sisters Anna Krieger, Susanna Schmidt, Aganetha Thiessen and sisters who died in infancy.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, BC.
Services for Katharina Schmidt will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2006. Burial at 9:30 am at Maclure Road Cemetery, 33965 Maclure Road, Abbotsford. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am from Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford.
