Mr. Gustave E. FRISKIE

June 2, 2006

Mr. Gustave E. Friskie, late of Abbotsford, BC, formerly of Niagara Falls, Ont., passed away in the early hours of Friday, June 2, 2006, just about the time he'd normally be going to bed. Dad will be remembered for being an incredibly hard worker, and an amazing provider, working for 45 years at the Welland Chemical Plant, in Welland Ont., and at the same time performing with his many bands, which included "Eddie Friskie and His Little Arrows" (with his young sons Gene and Randy playing guitar and drums.) Dad was a self-taught musician, playing 13 instruments, and passed his passion for music and entertaining on to his family. Gustave, also known as Eddie, Gus, Dad, "Pops", or Grandpa, performed and entertained people with his music right to the end. He could step-dance better than anyone, and yodeling was another of his specialties. He had an uncanny talent for gardening, as well, and people would drive to the house just to take pictures of Dad's garden, especially his tomatoes.

Dad could fix anything, and if you needed something, you could be sure that Dad had at least one, somewhere in his garage or workshop.

Dad loved to joke and laugh - there are far too many memories to list. They will be tucked away in the hearts of his family and countless friends forever.

Gustave is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothea; children Everett, Roberta, Sarah, Gene, and Randy; brother Al, and sisters Myrtle and Terry. Grandpa will be greatly missed by all of his 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Pre-deceased by parents Heinrich and Lydia, brothers Fred, Gilbert, Harold, and David, and sisters Pearl, Karen, Dorothy, and Zelma; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

See ya later, Alligator - Dad!
