Sept. 4, 1916 - Sept. 17, 2004
After a year long struggle with non-hodgkins lymphoma, our beloved mother Mona, slipped away peacefully with her daughter Sue and granddaughter Melanie holding her hands. Mom was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Jane Baglee, her husband Clark Van Volkingburgh and her nine siblings. She is survived by her children, Shirley, Ross, Judy, Bob and Sue, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
To those who knew mom what a wonderful sense of humour she had and she maintained that throughout her struggle with cancer. She never lost that mischievous twinkle in her blue eyes.
She will be deeply missed. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Abbotsford Hospice Society, her homemakers, (who made it possible for mom to remain in her home as long as she did), to everyone at the MMH ECU for the kindness you displayed every day, not only to our mother but to our entire family.
You are our angels on earth. To Nancy Malo, you are a true friend. In keeping with mom's wishes there will be no service, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 25, 2004 at 1:00 pm at 2575 Ware Rd, Abbotsford.
