SNIATENCHUK, Mike

April 23, 1929 - March 14, 2016

It is with genuine sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Sniatenchuk of Abbotsford, BC on March 14th, one month shy of his 87th birthday. He was born in Gardenton, MB on April 23, 1929, to Peter and Mary, first generation Canadians from the Ukraine, and his life would be long and interesting. His adventures took him from Manitoba to Lethbridge, Edmonton and Burnaby, BC and finally to Abbotsford which stood as a launching pad for years of world travel. Although he did enjoy work as a lineman and as a long distance driver it was his job with Fraser Valley Refrigeration that would hold his focus until his retirement. Mike gave off a positive spark, a wonderful smile, a seriously contagious laugh, and his wry and winding way of telling a story was truly one of a kind. Mike will be missed terribly.

He leaves behind his long-time companion Elaine, his brother Boris, sister Liz, sons Michael [Jacquie] and Barry [Jodey], daughter Joan [Guy], Elaine's children Karen [John] and Michael [Diane], plus 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, all of his Fraser Valley Refrigeration family, his Dairy Queen buddies and so many other good friends. Thanks goes out to all the staff at The Residence in Mission, specifically the Fern Neighbourhood.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 1:00 PM at Mt. Lehman Hall, 6418 Mount Lehman Road, Abbotsford
